Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cristofer Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Tracy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tracy tries to close the distance and clinch but Cannon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cannon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tracy.

Cannon gets tackled into the cage by Tracy. Tracy maintains the clinch.

Cannon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Cannon wants to control from the top but Tracy keeps moving.
Tracy controlling the position.
Tracy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cannon is controlling him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dick Tracy hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Cannon gets tackled into the cage by Tracy. Tracy maintains the clinch.

Tracy works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Tracy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cannon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tracy has Cannon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tracy pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cannon tumbling to the mat - Tracy dives into Cannon's guard.
Cannon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tracy wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving.

Tracy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Cannon drops back looking for a leg! Tracy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tracy manages to kick Cannon off! Cannon jumps back into Tracy's guard.

Tracy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cannon is controlling him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tracy controls Cannon momentarily but Cannon frees himself.

A close round but Dick Tracy will probably get the nod.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Tracy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dick Tracy wasn't active enough on the ground.
Tracy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cristofer Cannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tracy misses with a low kick as Cannon jumps back.
Cannon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tracy tries to work over Cannon's front leg with a kick but Cannon checks it.
Cannon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cannon closes the distance and clinches up with Tracy, looking for a takedown. Cannon pushes Tracy against the cage but Tracy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tracy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cannon takes an elbow to the forehead.

Tracy turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Tracy manages to end up in side control.

Tracy decides to stand back up. Tracy steps back and let's Cannon get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tracy rushes Cannon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cannon is trying to pull guard but Tracy has him pressed against the cage.

Tracy is working for takedown but Cannon is calmly controlling the position for now.

Tracy is trying to trip Cannon. He has hold of a leg but Cannon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tracy persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Cannon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Tracy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cannon defends well.

Cannon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cannon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cannon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cannon connects with a nice short shot to Tracy's temple.
Cannon is pressing down on Tracy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tracy is holding on for now.
Tracy is trying to stand up here but Cannon is controlling him well.

Tracy is refusing to be controlled, as Cannon sits in half guard.

Cannon wants to take a breather but Tracy is having none of it.
Cannon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tracy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Tracy looks like he's trying to stand up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
