Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timpo Hassel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Timpo Hassel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luca Zero!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zero avoids it really well and circles away.
Zero shoots for a double leg takedown but Hassel sprawls well. He's pushed Zero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hassel tries for a takedown but Zero sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hassel moves into the clinch successfully.

Hassel successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hassel wants to stand up but Zero is controlling him.
Hassel looking to control.
Zero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hassel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zero trying to control the position from guard on top but Hassel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Luca Zero was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Hassel fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Zero turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zero manages to end up in side control.

Hassel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hassel can't do much from the bottom here.

Hassel is trying to control Zero's posture but Zero avoids it.
Zero is looking to take a break and control but Hassel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zero scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hassel sneaks back into half guard.

Zero is working for a submission of some sort.
Hassel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zero drops an elbow to the side of Hassel's head.
Zero is just content to waste time from the top position. Hassel takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Hassel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Zero wants to improve his position but Hassel is controlling well.

Hassel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hassel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zero keeps working.
Zero is controlling Hassel's trapped leg to prevent Hassel from advancing to side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zero wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hassel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Zero closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hassel did well to prevent Zero getting side control.

Hassel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Zero is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hassel wants to get back to his feet.

Zero is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hassel is trying to stand back up but Zero is controlling him
Zero should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Luca Zero hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hassel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Zero clinches up with Hassel and pushes him back against the cage.
Zero is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Zero is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hassel gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hassel pulls guard successfully.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hassel is looking to stand up but Zero isn't so interested in that idea.

Zero showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Hassel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Zero looking to sit in guard and control but Hassel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Zero controls Hassel momentarily but Hassel frees himself.
Hassel prevents Zero from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zero can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hassel is fighting to break Zero's control of his arms but Zero is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Luca Zero has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Zero shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Zero closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hassel did well to prevent Zero getting side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Luca Zero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Zero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hassel circles away.
Zero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hassel as he jumps to the side.

Hassel gets caught flat footed, as Zero shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Zero not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hassel has his feet on Zero's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Hassel drives through and clinches with Zero against the cage.

Hassel gets control of Zero's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hassel will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Hassel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Zero is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Zero stopping the sweep attempt from Hassel.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zero won't allow Hassel to get back to his feet.

Zero wants to stand but Hassel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Zero's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Zero won't allow Hassel to sweep him here.
Zero looking to sit in guard and control but Hassel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hassel stands and steps away. Zero gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Zero shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hassel regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Zero.

Zero avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Zero distracts Hassel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Zero wants to pass the guard but Hassel is keeping the position.
Zero working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hassel's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zero controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hassel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Zero reaches up and holds on to Hassel to control the position.
Zero really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luca Zero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Zero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
