Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ridley Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Sacks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ridley Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harry Sacks!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Sacks. Those never looked like landing.
Carver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sacks swivels and escapes.
Sacks misses with the combination.
Sacks throws a head kick that misses.

Sacks has Carver up against the cage in a clinch.
Sacks looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Carver tries to work over Sacks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Carver tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Sacks breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sacks throws a combination that misses

and Carver counters by clinching up.
Sacks looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Sacks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carver just stands there and leans against the cage.

Carver has picked Sacks up - he's going for a ride! Carver dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Sacks wants to control the action here but instead Carver manages to pass to full mount!
Sacks tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carver takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Carver is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sacks can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sacks really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Carver is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sacks to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sacks shrugs it off.
Carver cracks Sacks with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Carver looking to control and managing it successfully.

Carver raining down shots from the mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carver landing punches.
Carver sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Sacks sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Carver is working for a submission of some sort.
Carver keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Carver looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Carver prevents Sacks from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carver slips a nice elbow through Sacks's hands, connecting with Sacks's forehead.
Carver winds up and cracks Sacks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Carver takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sacks taking some punishment here, with Carver in his half guard.


Sacks is rocked!
Carver seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sacks is still in real trouble! Can Carver finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carver passes to full mount!

Carver swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ridley Carver!
