Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier's entrance music is Apaga mas não bate. A fine choice. Sergio Melo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maier closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Melo's guard.

Melo has his foot on Maier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maier works his way back into a safe position though.

Maier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Melo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maier is working Melo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Melo looking for a guillotine here but Maier defends easily.

Maier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Maier passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Maier has an Americana. Melo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Maier is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Maier hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
