PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Senki Gudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikki Samu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gudo comes to the cage accompanied by The best intro ever. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Senki Gudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rikki Samu!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gudo swings for the body but Samu moves out of range.
Gudo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Gudo clinches up with Samu and pushes him back against the cage.
Samu should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Knees to the body from Samu.

Samu lands a damaging elbow.

Gudo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Samu regains guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Samu blocks a low kick nicely.

Gudo shoots in and bounces Samu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gudo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Samu wants to stand but Gudo is controlling the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gudo wants to stand but Samu has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gudo trying to control the position from guard on top but Samu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gudo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Gudo shoots for a takedown but Samu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Senki Gudo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Samu blocks the body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Senki Gudo will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gudo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gudo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Samu's waist but Samu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gudo off to one side.
Gudo misses with a jab, cross combination.

Gudo has managed to clinch.
Samu tries a knee to the head but Gudo blocks it.

Gudo jumps guard and drags Samu to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Oh Gudo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Samu connects with a knee to the head.
Gudo is pressed against the cage. Samu pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Gudo! Two more big strikes from Samu and Gudo crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Rikki Samu!
