Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blas Kavcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joesph Ely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joesph Ely is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blas Kavcic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joesph Ely!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ely stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ely wants it to stay on the feet.

Kavcic throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ely was covering up waiting for the punch and Kavcic finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kavcic pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ely is keeping the position for now.
Kavcic looking to sit in guard and control but Ely gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kavcic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ely defends it easily.
Ely postures up.

Kavcic looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ely must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ely is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ely stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kavcic swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ely is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Ely drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kavcic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ely has Kavcic in his guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kavcic won't allow Ely to get back to his feet.
Ely keeping moving, preventing Kavcic from controlling successfully.
Kavcic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ely's guard.
Kavcic is keen to just control but Ely is a slippery customer.
Kavcic tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ely knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kavcic is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kavcic is pressing down on Ely's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ely is holding on for now.
Ely is in trouble now - Kavcic has advanced to mount!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ely tries to lock up and control but Kavcic gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Oh Kavcic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ely closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ely is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kavcic sees it coming and defends easily.

Ely is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kavcic is just riding it out for now. Ely eventually gives up the hold.
Ely is breathing heavily.
Ely tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Ely working over Kavcic with some ground and pound. Kavcic looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ely lands strikes from half guard.
Ely is taking a breather. Kavcic says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ely is looking to take a break and control but Kavcic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ely is working for a kimura but Kavcic is defending it quite comfortably.
Kavcic tries to roll over but Ely keeps him under control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kavcic is trying to control but can't.

Joesph Ely showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kavcic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Ely cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kavcic shoots for a takedown but Ely saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ely changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kavcic tries to avoid it but Ely manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kavcic to the ground. Kavcic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kavcic has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ely avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kavcic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ely pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ely shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kavcic as he avoids it easily.
Kavcic with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ely to score with a decent uppercut.
Kavcic is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ely sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kavcic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ely is fending him off so far but Kavcic persists. Nope, Ely circles away and we're back to standing.

Kavcic throws a wild hook but Ely just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Kavcic gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Ely raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

After winning the bout, Joesph Ely thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
