The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvalho drives through with a takedown into McBride's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

McBride has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Carvalho is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McBride.

McBride lands a big shot there that rocks Carvalho but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

McBride jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Carvalho is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Carvalho and McBride has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

McBride is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carvalho defends it well.

Carvalho has his foot on McBride's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McBride works his way back into a safe position though.

McBride is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Carvalho still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Carvalho has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

McBride throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Carvalho escapes and throws McBride's legs to the side, diving into side control!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carvalho has gone for a leg lock! McBride slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carvalho's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sebastaio Carvalho will probably get the nod.
