The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luboslaw stuffs the takedown attempt from Sakuraba. Sakuraba gets slowly back to his feet.
Sakuraba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Luboslaw's waist but Luboslaw gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sakuraba off to one side.

Luboslaw forces Sakuraba back against the cage and clinches.

Luboslaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Luboslaw takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Luboslaw is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sakuraba asserts his dominance and retains side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Luboslaw drives through and clinches with Sakuraba against the cage.
Sakuraba tries to pull guard but Luboslaw holds him up against the cage and eventually Sakuraba drops back down to his feet.
Luboslaw lands a knee to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
