PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Rocky Marin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Marin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Wright!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright closes the distance and clinches.

Wright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marin swinging wildly here.
Wright with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marin to score with a decent uppercut.
Wright tries to clinch but Marin moves out of range.

Wright clinches with his opponent.
Wright lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marin backwards.
Marin can't break the clinch.

Wright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wright rushes Marin and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Marin is trying to push Wright away but Wright has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Marin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Wright blocks it with crossed arms.

Wright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marin throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Wright counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Rocky Marin has been cut.
Marin looks to land a combination but Wright avoids it well.
Wright pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Marin tries a head kick but it misses.
Wright connects with a solid leg kick.

Wright drives through and clinches with Marin against the ropes.

Wright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Marin throws a head kick but Wright moves out of range.
Wright tries to clinch up but Marin circles away and keeps his distance.
A head kick from Wright lands but Marin takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marin misses with a two punch combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wright fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Marin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Marin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Wright.
Marin is breathing heavily.
Wright wants to clinch.

Marin tries to keep at a distance but Wright has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wright manages to break the clinch.
Wright tries to clinch but Marin is having none of it.
A head kick from Wright lands but Marin takes it in his stride.
A swing and a miss from Marin.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Marin falls off balance throwing a combination

and Wright counters by moving into the clinch.
Wright lands a knee to the head.
Wright gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Marin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Wright is defending well for now.
Wright landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Wright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wright catches Marin napping and cracks him with a perfect head kick! Marin goes down! He's bigtime hurt! He's not going to make it back to his feet - the referee has called it off! This one is all over!
