Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Konsta Pylkkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith thuds his shin into the meat of Pylkkanen's side.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Pylkkanen's head but Pylkkanen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Smith lands a leg kick that knocks Pylkkanen off balance momentarily.
Dante Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smith throws a solid leg kick but Pylkkanen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Smith.
Smith throws a right hand that Pylkkanen ducks under and follows up with a left that Pylkkanen also avoids with ease.
Pylkkanen misses with a head kick.
Pylkkanen tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
Pylkkanen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Smith lands with a kick to the temple. Pylkkanen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Smith throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pylkkanen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Dante Smith has been cut.

Smith looks to land a body kick but Pylkkanen moved away.
Pylkkanen shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Smith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pylkkanen's knee momentarily.
Pylkkanen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Smith tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pylkkanen is able to avoid easily.
Pylkkanen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Smith's hands.

Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A big left from Pylkkanen misses.
Pylkkanen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
Pylkkanen misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely.
Pylkkanen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Pylkkanen lands with a right hand.
Pylkkanen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Pylkkanen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Smith throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pylkkanen moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Smith cracks Pylkkanen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Pylkkanen throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pylkkanen fails with the takedown

and Smith counters with a head kick that drops Pylkkanen to the mat! Pylkkanen scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Pylkkanen feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Pylkkanen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Pylkkanen is just out of range.

Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pylkkanen walks into a jab.
Pylkkanen moves away from the strike by Smith.
Smith scores with a jab to the jaw.
Pylkkanen fails with the takedown.
Good work by Pylkkanen as he checks the leg kick.
Pylkkanen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Pylkkanen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pylkkanen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Pylkkanen catches Smith with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Smith Rushes Pylkkanen and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Pylkkanen is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Smith Piles on the pressure and Pylkkanen crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
