Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Condit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Old Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Condit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Old Man!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man tries to clinch

and Condit counters by moving into the clinch.

Condit wants the takedown. Man is fighting it off but Condit persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Man's guard against the cage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Condit passes Man's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Condit thows a huge punch but Man dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Condit slows the pace down in half guard.
It looks like Condit is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Condit is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We're going to have a standup here because Carlos Condit wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Man with a poor takedown

and Condit counters by clinching up.
Man fails to pull guard.

Condit pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Man looks to clinch
and Condit counters with a three punch combo that has Man backing up. Man nods at Condit to acknowledge the strikes.
Man closes the distance looking to clinch

and Condit counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Man!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A lull in the action here as Condit stalls from top position.
Condit wants to stand but Man is controlling his arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Condit thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Condit tries for a kimura but Man is defending well.
Man strikes from the bottom but Condit takes advantage and advances to full mount!
Man regains half guard.
Condit looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Condit stands up from half guard.
Man misses with a takedown attempt

and Condit counters with a takedown into side control.
Carlos Condit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Old Man.
Man is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Condit is looking to take a break and control but Man is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Condit works to advance to full mount. Man defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Condit has hold of Man's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Man manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Condit has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Man's face.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Condit content just to control the position here.
Man tries to buck Condit off but Condit takes his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Condit fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Man misses the shot to the body.
Condit stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Condit wants it to stay on the feet.

Condit shoots in and bounces Man off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Condit wants to control from the top but Man keeps moving.
Condit is stalling in the full guard.
Man really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Condit. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Condit wanted to stand there but Man had control of the position.
Man wants to sweep here but Condit controlling him for the moment.
Condit engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

We're going to have a standup here because Carlos Condit wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Condit swats away the attempt to clinch by Man.

Condit clinches.

Man jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Condit walks away with a smile on his face. Man gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Man slips a straight right by Condit.
Condit shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Man but Man pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Condit has closed the distance and engaged Man in a clinch.
Man is trying to pull guard but Condit turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Carlos Condit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Old Man.
Man is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Condit pulls guard.
Man must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Condit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Man is one step ahead there.

Condit had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Man defends it easily.

Condit controlling the position.
Condit tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Condit manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Man manages to get himself to full guard.
Condit advances position into side control!
Condit has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Condit wants to take Man's back here but Man is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Condit trying to control but Man is having none of it.
Condit takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Man looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Condit trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Man doesn't escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Man defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Condit dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Condit looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Condit wants to stand but Man has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Condit throws an elbow that misses. Man uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Condit's guard. Nice move by Man!

Condit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Man gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carlos Condit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Condit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Condit is really struggling to control Man but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Man preventing the sweep.
Condit is controlling Man's posture.
Man looking to sit in guard and control but Condit gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Man can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Condit controls the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man is looking to stand up but Condit isn't so interested in that idea.
Condit's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Condit is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Man can do to turn this around?

The ref stands the fighters back up because Carlos Condit just wasn't active enough.
Man pivots, looking for a leg kick but Condit is out of range and Man settles back down.
Condit throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Carlos Condit is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Condit.

Condit wants to stand but Man has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Man is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Man can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Condit controls the pace.
