PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodo Roddie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roddie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bravo!
Roddie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Roddie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bravo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Roddie wants to control but Bravo is keeping him busy.

Bravo throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Bravo is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roddie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bravo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Roddie knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bravo on the ground.
Bravo is controlling Roddie's trapped leg to prevent Roddie from advancing to side control.

Bravo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roddie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roddie's back!
Bravo gets his hands free as Roddie looks to control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roddie turns into Bravo and is now in his guard.

Bravo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roddie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roddie wants to control from the top but Bravo keeps moving.

Bravo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roddie defends well.

Bravo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roddie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bravo looks winded!
Roddie wanted to stand there but Bravo had control of the position.

Bravo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roddie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bravo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Roddie is looking to stand up but Bravo won't let him.
Roddie controls from within his opponent's guard.

Bravo pushes Roddie off and scrambles back to his feet.

Roddie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bravo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bravo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Roddie off and has taken his back!
Roddie is trying to break free.

Bravo looking to break Roddie's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Roddie remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bravo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Roddie has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bravo.
Roddie is really stuck here.

Bravo is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Roddie has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bravo has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Roddie taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bravo doesn't care though - he's delighted!
