Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Night Owl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Smoke the Fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Owl throws a head kick that misses.
Owl wants to clinch up but Smith keeps it at a distance.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Owl tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it.
Owl gets back to half guard.
Owl trying to hold on to Smith's head to control him but Smith postures up.
Owl has his hands clasped together around Smith's back. He's all about the action.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Owl doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Smith is breathing heavily.

Owl is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Owl is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Owl has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Smith is in real trouble here. Owl gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Owl wins by rear naked choke!
