Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alun Banes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Redwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alun Banes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Redwood! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Redwood swats away the attempt to clinch by Banes. Banes throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. The fight stays on the outside here - Banes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Banes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Redwood takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Redwood tries to keep at a distance but Banes has taken the fight into the clinch. Redwood is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Banes is defending well for now. Banes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Redwood just stands there and leans against the cage. Banes is working for takedown but Redwood is calmly controlling the position for now. Banes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Redwood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Redwood's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Banes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Redwood scrambles back to his feet.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Banes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Redwood tries to avoid it but Banes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Redwood to the ground. Redwood escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alun Banes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Redwood has taken the fight to the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Banes works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Redwood using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Banes has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Redwood manages to break the clinch.
Banes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Redwood as he jumps to the side. Banes scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Banes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Banes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Redwood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Banes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Redwood defends it nicely. Banes is breathing heavily. Redwood throws a sloppy head kick and Banes moves out of range easily. Banes circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Redwood misses with a takedown attempt - Banes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Redwood shoots for a takedown but Banes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Redwood keeps the fight on the outside. The fight stays on the outside here - Banes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A head kick misses from Banes. Redwood thows a body shot but no joy. Banes fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Banes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Redwood swivels and escapes. Redwood moves out of range of the body kick from Banes.
Banes shoots for a double leg takedown but Redwood sprawls well. He's pushed Banes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Banes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Redwood moves out of range of the strikes. Redwood wants to clinch up but Banes keeps it at a distance. Banes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Redwood fails to land with a series of punches.
Banes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Redwood swivels and escapes. Banes has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Redwood. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Banes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Banes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redwood as he avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alun Banes will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Redwood throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Banes's head. Redwood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Banes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Redwood moves into the clinch. Banes blocks an elbow strike from Redwood.
Redwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James Redwood seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Banes closes the distance and clinches. Redwood misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Banes.

Redwood is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Banes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Banes has escaped and now he's on top! Banes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Redwood can't keep his opponent in guard - Banes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Redwood trying to control from the bottom.
Well, if Banes is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Banes wants to free his trapped foot but Redwood is holding on for dear life with his legs. Banes keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Banes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Banes. Banes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Redwood leaves Banes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alun Banes. That's going to take a lot out of him. A punch combination from Banes misses. A nice inside leg kick there by Redwood. That's going to slow Banes down. Redwood misses with a series of wild punches.
Redwood tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Banes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Redwood rushes Banes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Redwood tries a knee to the head but Banes blocks it.

Alun Banes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Banes looks for a takedown but Redwood sprawls well. Banes takes a kick to the side of the head. Alun Banes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Banes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Redwood sprawls well. Redwood wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Banes gets slowly back to his feet. Redwood scores with a leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Banes fails with a takedown attempt. Redwood throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Redwood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Banes stuffs the takedown attempt from Redwood. Redwood gets slowly back to his feet. Banes is looking to clinch. Banes fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Redwood checks it well. Horrible takedown by Banes or perhaps it was just good defense by Redwood which made him look bad. Banes shoots in for a takedown but Redwood shows good takedown defense. Redwood shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banes but Banes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Banes shoots in for a takedown but Redwood shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alun Banes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Redwood throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Banes misses with a body kick. Banes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Redwood.
Redwood fails with the takedown. Redwood throws a right hand that Banes ducks under and follows up with a left that Banes also avoids with ease. Redwood misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Redwood takes a shot to the body in his stride.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Banes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Redwood sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. No luck for Banes with that takedown attempt. Banes throws a lazy head kick and Redwood counters with a stiff right hand. Redwood throws a series of punches but Banes moves out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Banes. Redwood chopping away at his opponent's legs.
No joy there for Redwood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Banes clinches up with Redwood and pushes him back against the cage. Redwood can't break the clinch.
