Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rickson Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Leonard!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rua!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Rua is not content to let Leonard control the position.
Leonard looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rua is avoiding damage well.
Leonard wants to stand but Rua has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leonard stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Leonard is looking to score with low kicks.

Leonard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rua as he avoids it easily.
Leonard throws a right hand that Rua ducks under and follows up with a left that Rua also avoids with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rua is looking to clinch.
Leonard darts in and clinches Rua up against the cage.

Leonard is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Rua has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Leonard after a bit of a struggle.
Leonard pulls guard successfully.
Leonard isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rua stacks Leonard on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rua!

Leonard tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rua decides to stand back up. Rua steps back and let's Leonard get back to his feet.
Rua is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rua tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Leonard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Leonard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rua pinned against the cage. Rua gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rickson Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Leonard swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Maybe Rua would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

Rua has picked Leonard up - he's going for a ride! Rua dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leonard stands and throws Rua's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Leonard swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rua is now in Leonard's guard. A big mistake from Leonard there, giving up the dominant position!

Rua wants to stand but Leonard is controlling his posture from full guard.

and Leonard counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rua utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ray Leonard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Leonard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rua avoids it really well and circles away.
Leonard tries to keep at a distance but Rua has taken the fight into the clinch.
Leonard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rua smiles and moves away.

Ray Leonard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Leonard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
