The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerrard misses with an uppercut. Loompa saw that one coming.
Loompa misses with a wild body shot.
Loompa throws out a leg kick but Gerrard moves out of range and Loompa only half commits.
Loompa connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Loompa misses with a body shot.
Loompa takes one on the button.
Loompa wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Loompa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gerrard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Loompa shoots in looking for a takedown. Gerrard tries to sprawl out of it but Loompa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gerrard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gerrard throws a shot from downtown. Loompa moves away and avoids it.
Gerrard misses with a hook.
Gerrard does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Loompa throws a body punch but Gerrard moves out of range.
Loompa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gerrard manages to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Loompa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gerrard throws a hook but Loompa blocks it.
Gerrard jabs Loompa right on the nose. Loompa blinks but takes it well.
Gerrard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gerrard loads up on a big right hand but Loompa slips the punch.

Nice uppercut lands for Gerrard. That snapped Loompa's head back.

Gerrard clobbers Loompa with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Loompa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Gerrard misses with a straight right.
Loompa cracks Gerrard with a right hand to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Loompa throws a head kick but Gerrard moves out of range.
Loompa uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gerrard.
Loompa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gerrard sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Oompa Loompa will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gerrard takes a jab right on the kisser.
Gerrard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A big left from Loompa misses.
A jab from Loompa finds it's way through Gerrard's defenses.

Loompa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gerrard to the ground. Loompa is now in Gerrard's guard.
Loompa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Loompa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gerrard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gerrard has control of Loompa's left arm, preventing Loompa from doing any damage.
Gerrard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Loompa manages to get himself to full guard.

Gerrard tries to free his leg and advance position but Loompa is retaining full guard.
Gerrard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loompa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Loompa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gerrard controls the pace.

Gerrard has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Loompa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gerrard is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Loompa pulls down on the head and he's put Gerrard to sleep! This one is all over!
