Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Vicente!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Papai Noel Doido!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Doido enables Vicente to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Doido manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vicente preventing the sweep.

Doido is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vicente is aware though and is defending well.
Vicente trying to control the position from guard on top but Doido is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vicente stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doido swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vicente passes Doido's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Vicente is pressing down on Doido's thigh, looking to free his foot. Doido is holding on for now.

Vicente looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Doido tries to get to full guard but Vicente has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vicente thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Doido's head.
Doido moves into full guard.
Vicente wants to control from the top but Doido keeps moving.
Vicente won't allow Doido to sweep him here.

Vicente drops back looking for a leg! Doido is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Doido manages to kick Vicente off! Vicente jumps back into Doido's guard.

Vicente is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Doido utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Doido really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vicente. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vicente is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vicente works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Vicente in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Doido tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Vicente!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Eduardo Vicente!
A relieved looking Eduardo Vicente thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
