Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe comes to the cage accompanied by How could I just kill a man. The key to victory for John Doe has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Stratton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Doe sprawls well initially but Stratton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like Stratton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Stratton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Doe is staying active underneath Stratton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Stratton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
