Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Cardone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fatu has chosen Hawaii - Aloha-Oe as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Matt Cardone looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fatu sprawls well initially but Cardone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Fatu gets back to full guard.
Fatu wants to sweep but no luck.
Cardone trying to control but Fatu is working from the bottom.
Cardone has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Cardone throws a strike but Fatu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cardone is trying to keep Fatu in close.

Fatu wants to pass the guard but Cardone is keeping the position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cardone is looking for a sweep.
Fatu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cardone keeps working.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ryan Fatu wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cardone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Cardone wants to control from the top but Fatu keeps moving.

Cardone lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Fatu looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Cardone is defending well. Fatu quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cardone has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Fatu celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
