Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hassan Bilak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Singlet!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bilak stuffs the takedown.

Singlet rushes Bilak and presses him up against the cage.

Bilak breaks the clinch.
Singlet tries to close the distance and clinch but Bilak swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Singlet is looking to clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Bilak as Singlet shoots in.
Singlet shoots for a takedown but Bilak saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hassan Bilak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Singlet.
Bilak wants to land a leg kick but Singlet is out of range.
Bilak throws a sloppy head kick and Singlet moves out of range easily.

Singlet changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bilak looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bilak postures up in Singlet's guard and throws a big left but Singlet blocks it.
Bilak is looking to stand up but Singlet won't let him.
Bilak is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Hassan Bilak wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bilak defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Singlet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bilak wants to take the fight to the mat but Singlet manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hassan Bilak. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Singlet stuffs the takedown attempt from Bilak. Bilak gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bilak is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Singlet is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Singlet leaves Bilak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Singlet shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bilak pinned against the cage. Bilak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bilak gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Singlet to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Singlet connects with a couple of short punches.

Singlet slips nicely into half guard.
Bilak keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bilak is trying to maintain the position but Singlet is very close to passing his half guard.

Singlet is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bilak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Singlet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Singlet content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Singlet is thwarting Bilak's attempts to control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Singlet tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Singlet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bilak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Singlet pinned against the cage. Singlet gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bilak shoots in and gets a takedown into Singlet's guard.
Bilak wants to get up but he can't break Singlet's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Singlet is pulling down on Bilak's head. It's preventing any offense from Bilak, at least for the moment.
Singlet controls Bilak momentarily but Bilak frees himself.

Singlet is looking to sweep but instead, Bilak has passed into half guard.
Bilak wants to free his trapped foot but Singlet is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bilak in particular looking to stall.
Singlet trying to hold on to Bilak's head to control him but Bilak postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Singlet shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bilak keeping hold of Singlet's head, controlling as best he can.

Singlet is taking a breather. Bilak says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bilak misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Singlet wants to control but Bilak is keeping him busy.
Singlet not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Singlet seems to be working for a kimura but Bilak defends the submission attempt.
Singlet tries to pass to full mount but Bilak defends it.

Bilak is looking to escape.
Bilak manages to get to full guard.
Singlet trying to control but Bilak is working from the bottom.
Bilak striking off his back but it's not causing Singlet any problems.
Singlet must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bilak has his foot on Singlet's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Singlet works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hassan Bilak.
I think Bilak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
