Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tony Chu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daiju Kikuchi!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chu lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kikuchi at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chu. Kikuchi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chu misses with the combination.
A low kick from Chu is predictable there
and Kikuchi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kikuchi moves out of range of the strikes.
Chu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
An inside leg kick lands from Chu.
Kikuchi avoids the body shot from Chu.
Chu swings for the body but Kikuchi moves out of range.
Kikuchi is looking to chop away at Chu's legs.
Chu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Tony Chu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kikuchi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Chu.
Chu is looking to clinch.
Chu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kikuchi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kikuchi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chu fails in his attempt to clinch.

Chu takes the fight into the clinch.
Chu scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Kikuchi throws a punch but it's blocked by Chu.
Chu tries to work over Kikuchi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Chu is leaning against Kikuchi and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Chu misses with a hook to the ribs.
A right hand to the body from Kikuchi.
Kikuchi misses with some punches.
Kikuchi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Chu.
Chu can't find room to land a body shot as Kikuchi controls the action.

Chu using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kikuchi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Chu is looking to control Kikuchi's arms but Kikuchi gets an underhook and turns him. Now Chu has his back to the cage.

Kikuchi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kikuchi.
Kikuchi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Chu will probably get the nod.

Chu scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kikuchi doesn't seem bothered though.
Chu closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Chu tries to land a leg kick but Kikuchi saw it coming and moves away.
Chu misses the shot to the body.

Kikuchi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Chu. Chu obviously looking to wear him down.

Kikuchi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kikuchi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Chu is out of range.

Kikuchi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Chu has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kikuchi.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd cheers as Kikuchi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Chu doesn't seem phased though.
Tony Chu is winning the standup battle so far.
Chu lands a jab to the head.
Chu getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Kikuchi checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Kikuchi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The fighters circling - Chu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chu tries to clinch but Kikuchi is having none of it.
Chu tries to bum rush Kikuchi with a series of wild strikes but Kikuchi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chu connects with a leg kick. Kikuchi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

A nice inside leg kick there by Chu. That's going to slow Kikuchi down.

and Kikuchi counters with a body kick that stops Chu in his tracks momentarily.

Chu feints and then cracks Kikuchi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kikuchi down.

and Kikuchi counters with a huge head kick that drops Chu! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!
