PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jarmo Laukkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Itor Lamope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laukkanen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Mutilation of Christ. Lamope has chosen Bulletproof as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laukkanen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lamope takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Lamope is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Laukkanen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

A looping hook to the body misses from Laukkanen. Lamope does a little dance to reset his feet.

Laukkanen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lamope back to the cage. Laukkanen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Lamope connects with a solid leg kick.
Lamope stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lamope darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Laukkanen tries to sprawl but Lamope drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lamope is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Laukkanen is just riding it out for now. Lamope eventually gives up the hold.

Lamope has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Laukkanen defend it? Lamope steps over the head and cranks it - Laukkanen is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lamope!
