Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Apollo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Dent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Apollo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Dent!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apollo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Apollo doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dent counters by clinching up.
Dent tries for a takedown but Apollo manages to get underhooks.
Dent wants to get back to striking at distance but Apollo won't allow it.

Apollo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dent can't fight it off and eventually Apollo manages to take the fight to the floor. Dent looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dent pushes Apollo off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Nice sprawl there from Apollo as Dent shoots in.

Dent throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Apollo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dent is in Apollo's guard.

Dent gets to his feet. Apollo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Daniel Apollo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dent.
Daniel Apollo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Dent.
Apollo jabs Dent to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Apollo tries to clinch but Dent moves out of range.

Dent shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Apollo as he avoids it easily.
Apollo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dent paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dent looks winded!
Apollo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Apollo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dent manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Apollo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dent backs up against the cage.

Apollo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Apollo showed some decent athleticism there.

Dent kicks Apollo off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dent throws a head kick but Apollo moves out of range.
Apollo tries to close the distance and clinch but Dent swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dent tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Apollo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Apollo has Dent up against the cage in a clinch.
Apollo is stalling here.

Apollo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dent regains guard immediately.
Dent wants to sweep here but Apollo controlling him for the moment.

Apollo trying to control the position from guard on top but Dent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Apollo throws a strike but Dent rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Dent won't allow Apollo to sweep him here.
Dent content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dent trying to control but Apollo is working from the bottom.

Dent stands up from Apollo's guard - Dent perhaps looking for a knockout.
Apollo wants to clinch up but Dent keeps it at a distance.

Dent throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Apollo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dent is in Apollo's guard.
Apollo wants to sweep here but Dent controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dent looking to pass the guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Apollo can't keep his opponent in guard - Dent advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Daniel Apollo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dent is working for takedown but Apollo is calmly controlling the position for now.

Apollo prevents a takedown attempt there.

Dent tries for a takedown but Apollo manages to get underhooks.

Dent has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Apollo doesn't defend quickly enough and Dent has managed to lock this one up! Can Apollo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dent on a fantastic submission victory.
