Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raivis Vidzis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mariano Gorano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Raivis Vidzis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mariano Gorano!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorano throws a nice looking combination but Vidzis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gorano is defended easily by Vidzis.

Gorano looks for a takedown but Vidzis sprawls well.

Vidzis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gorano to the mat! Gorano manages to get full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Vidzis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Vidzis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Vidzis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gorano's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gorano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vidzis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vidzis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vidzis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
