Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Hooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Abs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abs is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Theme of Exodus. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Hooke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Abs shoots in for a takedown but Hooke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Abs doesn't manage to clinch there - Hooke circles away.
Hooke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hooke feints a jab promting Abs to slip. Hooke then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Abs slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hooke cracks Abs with a good jab.
Hooke smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Abs counters with a slapping leg kick.
Hooke tries to keep at a distance but Abs has taken the fight into the clinch.
Abs struggles to land a body shot inside as Hooke controls his hands.

Abs tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Abs is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Hooke is looking to control Abs's arms but Abs gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hooke has his back to the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Hooke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

James Abs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooke swats away the attempt to clinch by Abs.
Nice straight punches there by Hooke. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hooke.
Abs throws a right and a left that Hooke avoids nicely.

Abs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hooke circles away quickly and effectively.
Hooke lands a nice shot to the body.
Hooke fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Abs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hooke looks to land a left hand but Abs moved out of range nicely.

Hooke rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Abs counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Abs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hooke manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Abs drops his hands momentarily and Hooke takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abs misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hooke scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Abs tries to clinch up but Hooke circles away and keeps his distance.

Abs swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Abs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hooke, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Abs.
Hooke lands with a light punch inside.
Abs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hooke just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hooke throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Abss head.
Abs tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Hooke avoiding damage as Abs throws knees to the body.

Hooke stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Abs misses with a body punch.
Hooke breaks from the clinch.
Abs tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hooke counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Abs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Abs walks into a jab.
Abs tries to clinch but Hooke moves out of range.
Hooke cracks Abs with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Abs throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hooke lands a big right hand that sends Abs crashing to the mat! Hooke stays standing though and waves Abs back to his feet!
Abs is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hooke steps in with a hook that catches Abs right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Hooke follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Abs looks absolutely devastated.
