PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lateef Crowder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dzoko Dzoko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowder comes to the cage accompanied by Tribute. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lateef Crowder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dzoko Dzoko!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dzoko keeps the fight on the outside.
Dzoko throws out a leg kick but Crowder moves out of range and Dzoko only half commits.
Dzoko thows a body shot but no joy.
Dzoko looks to land a right hand but Crowder moved out of range.
Dzoko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crowder circles away from the clinch attempt

and Crowder counters by clinching up.
Dzoko is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Crowder works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Crowder trying to control but Dzoko is working from the bottom.
Dzoko throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Dzoko keeping moving, preventing Crowder from controlling successfully.
Dzoko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crowder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dzoko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Crowder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Crowder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dzoko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Crowder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Crowder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dzoko looking for a guillotine here but Crowder defends easily.
Crowder slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dzoko manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Crowder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dzoko is working away from the top position though.
Crowder is doing well to control the position and prevent Dzoko from advancing to side control.

Crowder kicks Dzoko off and gets back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Crowder.

Dzoko closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dzoko throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Crowder to regain full guard.

Crowder has his hands on Dzoko's head, controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crowder is trying to keep Dzoko in close.
Dzoko is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Dzoko prevents Crowder from getting back to his feet.

Dzoko drops back, looking for a kneebar! Crowder looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Crowder looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Crowder!

Crowder decides to stand back up.

Crowder is looking to take this one to the mat.

Crowder has clasped his hands together around Dzoko's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dzoko regains half guard.
Dzoko works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dzoko is trying to control the position but Crowder postures up.

Dzoko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dzoko throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Crowder keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dzoko's head.
Dzoko working a defensive guard but Crowder passes into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Crowder moves into full mount! Dzoko won't be happy about that!

Crowder shoots in looking for a takedown. Dzoko tries to sprawl out of it but Crowder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dzoko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Crowder shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dzoko counters with a nice uppercut.
Dzoko throws a low kick but Crowder moves out of range easily.

Dzoko tries to clinch up but Crowder circles away and keeps his distance.

Crowder shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dzoko napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Crowder decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dzoko to his feet.
Crowder shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dzoko as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lateef Crowder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dzoko gets tackled into the cage by Crowder. Crowder maintains the clinch.
Dzoko wants to get back to striking at distance but Crowder won't allow it.

Dzoko is trying to break the clinch but Crowder has him pressed against the cage.
Crowder keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dzoko's efforts to push away.
Dzoko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Dzoko is trying to force a seperation but Crowder has the dominant position.
Dzoko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Crowder has him pressed against the cage.

Crowder has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dzoko regains guard immediately.

Crowder escapes and gets back to his feet.
Dzoko throws a hook to the side of Crowder's head but Crowder sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Crowder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dzoko but Dzoko pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Crowder closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dzoko is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Dzoko takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dzoko managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Crowder.

Crowder stands up.
Crowder shoots in for a takedown but Dzoko shows good takedown defense.
Dzoko tries to clinch but Crowder is having none of it.
Crowder shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Crowder avoids a kick to the body.

Dzoko has Crowder up against the cage in a clinch.
Dzoko looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Dzoko is trying to break the clinch but Crowder is controlling him.
Crowder jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dzoko walks away with a smile on his face. Crowder gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Dzoko misses with a low kick.
Crowder shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dzoko sprawls well. Dzoko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Crowder gets slowly back to his feet.

Lateef Crowder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Crowder is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dzoko gets his way!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crowder, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
