Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Brookheimer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas closes the distance but Brookheimer moves to the side
and Brookheimer counters with a left to the body.
Thomas looks to throw a body kick
and Brookheimer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thomas is defended easily by Brookheimer.
Brookheimer pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thomas back to the cage. Brookheimer follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Freddy Thomas has been cut.
Thomas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Brookheimer moves into the clinch.
Thomas wants to take the fight to the mat but Brookheimer manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jimmy Brookheimer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddy Thomas.
A knee to the head by Brookheimer.

Brookheimer pushes Thomas back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Brookheimer presses Thomas against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Brookheimer landing some nice looking knees to the body.

A nice right hand lands inside from Brookheimer.
Thomas is rocked!
Brookheimer pushes Thomas back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can Brookheimer finish him?
Brookheimer creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Thomas with a big uppercut! Thomas tries to clinch up but Brookheimer pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Thomas to the mat! Thomas covers up and Brookheimer unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jimmy Brookheimer!
Jimmy Brookheimer bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
