The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heath slaps away a takedown attempt from Brute, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Brute shoots in looking for a takedown but Heath manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brute's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Heath bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Heath wants to control but Brute is keeping him busy.
Heath misses with the ground and pound.
Heath moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Heath is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brute has escaped the position, nice work there.

Brute is looking to regain half guard here but Heath keeps moving and retains side control.

Heath is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brute is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Heath wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Brute, who protects the arm well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Brute shoots for a double leg takedown but Heath sprawls well. He's pushed Brute's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Heath has closed the distance and engaged Brute in a clinch.
Brute tries to break free but Heath pushes him back against the cage.

Heath's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Heath shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brute's guard.

Brute has momentary wrist control but Heath slips an elbow through the middle.
Heath wanted to stand there but Brute had control of the position.

Brute has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heath can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Heath is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brute is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brute has escaped and now he's on top!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
