The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Kid walks into a left hand.
The Kid keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Firehawk, right into the meat.
The Kid shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Firehawk defends it nicely.
Jimmy The Kid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Kid defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Firehawk.
Firehawk fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rhage Firehawk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Kid drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The Kid is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The Kid thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Firehawk tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Kid passes Firehawk's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Kid in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Firehawk tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from The Kid!
