Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinten Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, JB Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith lands a nice leg kick that just misses Patterson's sensitive parts.
Patterson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Smith.

Smith rushes Patterson and presses him up against the cage.
Patterson is trying to break the clinch but Smith has him pressed against the cage.
Smith has Patterson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Patterson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Patterson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Smith has him pressed against the cage.
Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Patterson controls his hands.

Patterson manages to break the clinch.

Smith gets the takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Smith decides to stand back up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Patterson throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Smith throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Patterson misses with a wild combination.
Smith takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Patterson's guard.
Smith postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Smith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patterson keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
Smith is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Patterson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Patterson wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.
Smith trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Quinten Smith wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Patterson as he jumps to the side.
Smith takes one on the button.
Smith throws a right hand that Patterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Patterson also avoids with ease.

Smith shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Smith was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Patterson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Patterson to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Patterson looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith controlling the position from side mount.
Smith postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
Patterson wants to get back to his feet but Smith drags him back down.
Smith taking a breather here.

Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Patterson has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Patterson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Smith in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Patterson wants to get back to his feet.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
Smith is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Smith prevents Patterson from escaping the position.
Patterson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Smith content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Patterson is trying to buck Smith off.
Smith grinds an elbow into Patterson's temple.

Smith has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Nice sprawl there from Patterson as Smith shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinten Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Patterson sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Patterson tries to kick Smith off but Smith keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ground and pound from Smith.

Smith is trying for a kimura here. Patterson looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Smith wins by kimura!
