The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JJ uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hoek.
No joy there for JJ, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A jab from Hoek misses.
Hoek is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like B JJ has been cut.
JJ slips under a jab.
JJ steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hoek.
Hoek missing with a left hand there. JJ was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hoek throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
JJ displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoek throws out the jab.
Ren Hoek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoek gets cracked there but stands up to it.
JJ uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hoek.

JJ tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hoek paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hoek looks gassed!

JJ is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hoek is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hoek flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. JJ anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hoek and secures both hooks! This could be bad! JJ slips an arm under Hoek chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. JJ has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. JJ is squeezing on Hoek like an anaconda would it's prey. Hoek fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
