The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Dam misses with a takedown attempt - Fragoso sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fragoso forces Van Dam back against the cage and clinches.

Fragoso pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Van Dam loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Alex Fragoso decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
