The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tremendous takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Vesnev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tremendous.
Vesnev ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tremendous moves away.
Vesnev takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Tremendous slips a straight right by Vesnev.
Tremendous throws a low kick but Vesnev avoids it.
Tremendous misses with a body kick.
Vesnev scoring well with a low kick there.
Tremendous feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vesnev's calf.
Vesnev comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vesnev. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Tremendous is looking to slow Vesnev down with leg kicks.

Vesnev tightens his grip and picks Tremendous up, before dumping him to the ground. Tremendous manages to land in guard.
Vesnev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Vesnev drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tremendous manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vesnev has Tremendous in his guard.
Vesnev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tremendous gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tremendous passes Vesnev's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vesnev throws out a loose jab but Tremendous uses good head movement to avoid it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rex Tremendous hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tremendous pushes down on Vesnev's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tremendous tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vesnev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tremendous trying to control from half guard but Vesnev is working away.
Tremendous is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vesnev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tremendous.
Tremendous wants to free his trapped foot but Vesnev is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rex Tremendous is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Vesnev is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tremendous is trying to control the action in half guard but Vesnev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vesnev tries to roll over but Tremendous keeps him under control.
