Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kwame Akabaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akabaro comes to the cage accompanied by Matenrou Opera - Dolce. Richards is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Three Six Mafia - It's a fight. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as CJ Richards enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akabaro lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Akabaro throws a body punch but Richards moves out of range.
Akabaro looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Akabaro scores with a leg kick.
Kwame Akabaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richards takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Richards blocks a head kick by Akabaro.
Richards moves out of range of the body kick from Akabaro.
Akabaro thumps Richards with a low kick.
A head kick from Akabaro lands but Richards takes it in his stride.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Richards shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Akabaro's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Richards wants to pass the guard but Akabaro is keeping the position.

Akabaro pushes Richards off and gets back to his feet.

Richards takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Richards looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Akabaro is fending him off so far but Richards persists. Nope, Akabaro circles away and we're back to standing.
Akabaro lands with an overhand left.
Richards with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Akabaro to score with a decent uppercut.
Richards blocks a leg kick.
Richards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Richards looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kwame Akabaro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CJ Richards.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Akabaro. Richards shrugs it off though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richards tries for a takedown but Akabaro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Akabaro lands a big head kick that sends Richards tumbling to the mat! Akabaro takes a step backwards and waves Richards back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Akabaro darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Akabaro moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Richards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Akabaro ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Akabaro connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Akabaro is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Akabaro connects with a leg kick. Richards looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Akabaro cracks Richards with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Richards looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Akabaro finish him?

Richards is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Akabaro throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Richards crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

After the fight, Kwame Akabaro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
