PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucca Atreides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atticus Jax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Atreides might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Remember the name. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jax tries to clinch but Atreides moves out of range.

Atticus Jax seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Atreides throws a sloppy head kick and Jax moves out of range easily.
Jax tries to close the distance and clinch up but Atreides swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jax decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jax throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Atreides's waist but Atreides gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jax off to one side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jax lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Atreides sprawling to the canvas. Jax follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Atreides hang on?

Atreides is rocked!
Jax uses his free foot to push down on Atreides's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Atreides.
Oh Atreides is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Despite being in the dominant position, Atticus Jax just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jax misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jax tries to close the distance and clinch but Atreides swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Jax counters with a body kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jax scores with a one two! Atreides had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Atticus Jax showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Atreides's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Atreides will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
