Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dolores Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and redheaded Step Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Step Child has chosen Nacho Libre Iam Iam as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dolores Haze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, redheaded Step Child! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haze tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Haze changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Step Child looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Step Child stops Haze from passing to mount. Step Child is looking for a sweep. Haze throwing shots but missing, from side control. Haze throwing strikes but missing, from side control. An elbow from Haze crashes against the mat.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Haze tries to clinch but Step Child is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Step Child tries for a takedown but Haze circles away easily and Haze counters with a single leg into guard. Step Child didn't expect that. Step Child is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Step Child is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Haze postures up in Step Child's guard and throws a big left but Step Child blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haze pushes down on Step Child's leg and manages to get into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Step Child is not content to let Haze control the position. Step Child moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Haze throwing strikes but missing. Haze trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Step Child looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Haze fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Step Child manages to avoid it. Dolores Haze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Step Child gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Haze passes easily into side control. Nice work. Haze trying to control the position but Step Child is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haze tries to move to mount but Step Child blocks the move with his legs. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Haze decides to stand back up. Haze shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Haze is looking for a kimura here.
Haze is looking for a kimura but Step Child is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Haze to get the leverage. Haze prevents Step Child from improving his position. Step Child slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Step Child has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Step Child wants to sweep here but Haze controlling him for the moment. Step Child keeping moving, preventing Haze from controlling successfully. Step Child is looking for a triangle but Haze pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Step Child looks gassed! Haze slips nicely into half guard. Haze looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Haze has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haze scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Step Child?
Haze looking to control but Step Child is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Step Child is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Haze wants to take Step Child's back here but Step Child is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Haze sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Haze prevents Step Child from getting the reversal. Haze takes Step Child's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Step Child is in trouble. Haze is hanging on to Step Child's back as he tries to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dolores Haze dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Haze fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Step Child manages to avoid it. Haze closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Step Child to the mat! Step Child manages to get full guard. Haze is working Step Child over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Haze trying to control the position from guard on top but Step Child is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Haze drops back looking for a leg! Step Child is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Step Child manages to kick Haze off! Haze jumps back into Step Child's guard. Step Child keeping full guard, as Haze tries to pass. Step Child looking for a guillotine here but Haze defends easily.
Step Child working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Haze doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Haze manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Step Child is breathing heavily. Haze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Step Child works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haze drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Haze jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Haze sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Step Child's guard. Dolores Haze overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Step Child looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Step Child is looking for a sweep. Haze is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Step Child moves into full guard.
Haze is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Haze forces his way into half guard. Haze thows a huge punch but Step Child dodges it nicely.
Haze uses his free foot to push down on Step Child's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Step Child. Haze looking to control but Step Child is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Step Child working to try and regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haze punching from mount but Step Child doing a good job of avoiding damage. Haze lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Step Child hang on? Haze looking to ground and pound but Step Child is blocking nicely. Haze fails to advance to Step Child's back. Haze throwing strikes here but Step Child is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Haze is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Step Child has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Haze content just to control the position here. Step Child is trying desperately to improve position. Haze throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Haze looking to secure an arm triangle but Step Child defends it well. Haze looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haze tries to control but Step Child wriggling away. Haze unloads with some shots from mount but Step Child bucks and avoids them well.
Haze throws some wild stikes that Step Child manages to avoid easily.
Step Child is in all sorts of trouble here.
Poor strikes thrown by Haze there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Step Child tries to roll over but Haze keeps him under control. Step Child is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Haze thows a huge punch but Step Child dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Haze prevents Step Child from improving his position. Haze is looking for a kimura here.
Haze is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Step Child is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
