Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hugh Jass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kobel!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jass stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kobel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jass will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jass is nestled in close to Kobel, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
