PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Trepanier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Crixus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crixus has chosen Face The Pain as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trepanier closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Trepanier lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Trepanier seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Trepanier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Trepanier has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Trepanier is standing up over Crixus. Crixus looks to escape but Trepanier dives into side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tom Trepanier wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Crixus connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Trepanier wants to clinch up but Crixus keeps it at a distance.

Trepanier looking to score a takedown here. Crixus is defending well but Trepanier drives through and ends up in Crixus's guard.

Trepanier stands up and waves to Crixus to follow him.

Crixus stuffs the takedown attempt from Trepanier. Trepanier gets slowly back to his feet.
Crixus bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Trepanier's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Crixus misses with a double jab.
Trepanier tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Trepanier takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Trepanier takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Crixus scores with a one two! Trepanier had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Crixus connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Trepanier out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jake Crixus!
After winning the bout, Jake Crixus thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
