Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Guy Hanes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Guy Hanes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Jones!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanes closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Hanes pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hanes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jones prevents Hanes from getting back to his feet.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jones landing with the ground and pound.
Jones throwing strikes from guard but Hanes blocks nicely.
Jones stops Hanes from standing up.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hanes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanes wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hanes can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Tim Jones has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.

Jones cracks Hanes with a big right hand but Hanes just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jones is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hanes's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hanes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like Jones might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hanes trying desperately to get to his feet.

Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like Guy Hanes has been cut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones fails to advance to Hanes's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hanes has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Hanes is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Hanes tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hanes is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hanes lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hanes pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Hanes is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hanes's legs.

Jones stands up.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hanes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Guy Hanes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Guy Hanes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
