PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Suliman Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Tombo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Suliman Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brian Tombo!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kane.
Kane wants to clinch.
Tombo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tombo lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kane backs up against the cage.

Kane gets a double leg takedown into Tombo's guard.
Kane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tombo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kane controlling the position well.

Kane tries to get to full guard but Tombo has control of the leg.
Kane is looking to control Tombo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kane avoid being mounted?
Kane is controlling Tombo's trapped leg to prevent Tombo from advancing to side control.

Suliman Kane has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tombo cracks Kane with an open hand slap.
Tombo tries to bum rush Kane with a series of wild strikes but Kane uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tombo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brian Tombo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kane dives in and scores a takedown into Tombo's guard.

Tombo has his foot on Kane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kane works his way back into a safe position though.

Kane pushes down on Tombo's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tombo is not content to let Kane control the position.
Tombo wants to improve his position but Kane is controlling well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kane wants to free his trapped foot but Tombo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kane is taking a breather. Tombo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tombo tries to get to full guard but Kane has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kane is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tombo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tombo wants to control but Kane is keeping busy.
Kane works his foot free and advances to mount.

Tombo is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kane pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Kane moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Tombo has worked his arm free - good work by Tombo!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tombo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tombo throws a leg kick but Kane moved away.
Tombo tries to clinch but Kane is having none of it.
Kane fails with a takedown attempt.
Tombo misses with a head kick.
Kane just misses with a punch to the body.

Kane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tombo's guard.
Kane stops Tombo from standing up.

Kane drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tombo dives on top into guard.

Kane looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tombo passes into half guard.

Tombo escapes and gets back to his feet.
Kane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tombo as he avoids it easily.

Kane closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tombo's guard.

Kane wants to pass the guard but Tombo is keeping the position.
Tombo wants to stand but Kane is controlling the position.
Kane sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Tombo scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tombo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kane, pushing him back against the cage.

Kane gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Tombo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kane looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Suliman Kane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kane tries to free his leg and advance position but Tombo is retaining full guard.
Kane wants to control from the top but Tombo keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tombo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tombo's guard.

Tombo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tombo wants to stand and escape but Kane is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kane slips nicely into half guard.

Kane wants to work for an arm triangle but Tombo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Kane's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kane tries to keep at a distance but Tombo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tombo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tombo.
Kane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kane closes the distance and clinches up with Tombo, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes Tombo against the cage but Tombo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tombo tries to clinch up but Kane circles away and keeps his distance.
Tombo stuns Kane with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tombo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Tombo duly obliges.
Tombo lands a nice looking body shot.
Tombo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kane counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Tombo!

Kane is looking to take a break and control but Tombo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kane tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kane has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tombo wants to control but Kane postures up.

Tombo controls the position for a moment.

Tombo is pushing Kane's head away, looking to escape. Kane manages to hold on to the position though.

Kane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tombo has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tombo tries to bench press Kane off him but Kane keeps the position.
Kane laying and praying for a moment but Tombo takes advantage and regains half guard.
Kane prevents Tombo from improving his position.

Tombo is staying active underneath Kane, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tombo is looking to escape.

Kane is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kane is working for a kimura but Tombo is defending it quite comfortably.
Suliman Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kane is keen to just control but Tombo is a slippery customer.
Kane is pressing down on Tombo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tombo is holding on for now.
Well, if Kane is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Brian Tombo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tombo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kane pulls his head out easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kane, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
