PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Regis Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nephew Tony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tony avoids the head kick by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez swinging wildly here.
Tony defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rodriguez.

Rodriguez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tony manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Rodriguez is really struggling to control Tony but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Rodriguez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rodriguez showed some decent athleticism there.

Rodriguez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Tony to get to his feet.
Rodriguez tries for a takedown but Tony sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rodriguez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rodriguez moves into range and clinches up with Tony.
Rodriguez is looking for a takedown.

Rodriguez tries to score a body lock takedown but Tony shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tony smiles and moves away.

Tony is staying active underneath Rodriguez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tony is trying to stand back up but Rodriguez is controlling him
Well, if Rodriguez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rodriguez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rodriguez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
