The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mondeux thows a left - swing and a miss!
Monk fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mondeux avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mondeux blocks the body kick.
Mondeux throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Monk moves into the clinch.
Mondeux tries to break the clinch but Monk is controlling the position.
Monk keeps control of Mondeux as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mondeux wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Monk has him pressed against the cage.
Mondeux is trying to break free.
Mondeux tries to break free but Monk pushes him back against the cage.
Monk prevents Mondeux from breaking the clinch.

Monk tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mondeux just stands there and leans against the cage.

Monk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight stays on the outside here - Monk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Monk moves in looking to clinch but Mondeux pushes him off.

Mondeux misses with an uppercut

and Monk counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Monk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mondeux is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Monk, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Monk is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mondeux rolls with it to try and escape but Monk cranks on the arm and Mondeux is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
