These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demaestri throws a head kick but Barnes moves out of range.

Barnes moves into range and clinches up with Demaestri.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Barnes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Demaestri swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barnes clinches up with Demaestri and pushes him back against the cage.

Barnes is sitting in close to Demaestri's body. Demaestri has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Barnes is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Barnes is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Demaestri.
