Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Inglis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Inglis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Juan Carlos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Carlos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Inglis!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Carlos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Inglis fails with the takedown.

Inglis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Inglis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carlos walks away with a smile on his face. Inglis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Inglis shoots in for a double leg but Carlos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Juan Carlos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Inglis.
Carlos pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Carlos bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Inglis forces Carlos back against the cage and clinches.

Inglis wants the takedown. Carlos is fighting it off but Inglis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carlos's guard against the cage.
Inglis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carlos has a closed guard, preventing Inglis from standing up.
Carlos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Carlos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Inglis defends it easily.

Carlos has his foot on Inglis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Inglis works his way back into a safe position though.

Carlos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Carlos wants to stand and escape but Inglis is having none of it.
Carlos throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Inglis is pushing down on Carlos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carlos is fighting to maintain full guard but Inglis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Carlos has a hand on Inglis's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Inglis takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Inglis throwing strikes here but Carlos is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Carlos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Inglis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Inglis looking to ground and pound but Carlos is blocking nicely.

Inglis with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Inglis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Carlos is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by George Inglis.

Inglis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Inglis dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Carlos missing with a left hand there. Inglis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carlos moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


It looks like George Inglis has been cut.
Inglis ducks under a wild hook from Carlos.
Carlos lands a nice hook to Inglis's body. Inglis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Inglis darts in and clinches Carlos up against the cage.
Carlos stalling in the clinch but Inglis improves position.
Inglis tries to pull guard but Carlos forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Inglis pulls guard successfully.
Inglis keeping moving, preventing Carlos from controlling successfully.

Inglis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carlos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carlos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Inglis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carlos won't allow Inglis to get back to his feet.
Inglis seems keen to control Carlos's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Inglis takes a body punch but keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Carlos. No joy for Inglis on that attempt.

Inglis drives through with a takedown into Carlos's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Inglis tries to free his leg and advance position but Carlos is retaining full guard.
Inglis is breathing heavily.

Carlos throws his legs up looking for a submission but Inglis uses it to pass to side control.

Inglis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carlos to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carlos throws a jab but it's blocked by Inglis.

Carlos throws a jab when Inglis was well out of range.

Carlos lands with a cross.
Inglis scores with a push kick.

Carlos cracks Inglis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Inglis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carlos but Carlos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Juan Carlos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Inglis.
A punch combination from Inglis misses.
Inglis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Inglis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carlos pinned against the cage. Carlos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carlos swings widly with a right hand

and Inglis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carlos won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Inglis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carlos, who protects the arm well.
Carlos is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carlos tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Inglis presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Inglis misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Carlos is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Inglis thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Inglis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Inglis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but George Inglis will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Inglis gets the takedown into side control.
Carlos throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Carlos is looking to regain half guard here but Inglis keeps moving and retains side control.

Inglis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carlos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Carlos is being controlled here.
Carlos is looking for a sweep.
Inglis controls the position.

Inglis avoids the strikes from the bottom by Carlos.
Carlos can't do much from the bottom here.
Inglis just content to control the position.
Carlos is trying to control Inglis's posture but Inglis avoids it.
Carlos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
George Inglis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carlos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Inglis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Inglis is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carlos defends it well.

Inglis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carlos is just riding it out for now. Inglis eventually gives up the hold.
Inglis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Carlos!

Inglis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Carlos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Carlos shrugs it off.

Inglis has hold of Carlos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carlos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Inglis unloads with some shots from mount but Carlos bucks and avoids them well.
Juan Carlos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Inglis fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Inglis looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Carlos is desperately trying to improve his position but Inglis has a good base and remains in mount.
Carlos is working hard here to advance position.
Inglis thowing shots but they're missing.

Carlos tries to hold on but Inglis pushes him away.

Inglis stands up from mount. Strange move.

Inglis clinches.
Inglis prevents a body shot from Carlos.

Inglis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Carlos regains guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Inglis stays in close to Carlos's body and controls the position.
Carlos wants to control but Inglis passes easily into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, if Inglis is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

George Inglis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Inglis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
