The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alaniz misses with a body kick.

Alaniz has closed the distance and engaged Sullivan in a clinch.

Sullivan wants the takedown. Alaniz is fighting it off but Sullivan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Alaniz's guard against the cage.
Sullivan wants to control from the top but Alaniz keeps moving.

Sullivan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Alaniz has his foot on Sullivan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sullivan works his way back into a safe position though.

Sullivan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Sullivan has an Americana. Alaniz didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sullivan is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sullivan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
