Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Konrad Kristofferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Olivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Konrad Kristofferson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konrad Kristofferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Olivera!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Olivera throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kristofferson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Olivera is in Kristofferson's guard.

Kristofferson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Olivera passes Kristofferson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Olivera is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kristofferson is just riding it out for now. Olivera eventually gives up the hold.
Kristofferson is staying active underneath Olivera, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Olivera really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kristofferson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Olivera throws a strike but Kristofferson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Olivera is pressed up against the cage. Kristofferson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Olivera down to the mat. Olivera avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Olivera fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kristofferson sprawls well initially but Olivera persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gabriel Olivera was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kristofferson shoots in looking for a takedown. Olivera tries to sprawl out of it but Kristofferson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Olivera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Olivera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kristofferson's guard.
Olivera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kristofferson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Olivera is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kristofferson.

Olivera tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Gabriel Olivera has got the better of the ground game so far.
Olivera misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Olivera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kristofferson keeps working.

Olivera lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kristofferson down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kristofferson is not content to let Olivera control the position.
Kristofferson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Olivera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kristofferson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kristofferson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Olivera can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kristofferson connects with a nice short shot to Olivera's temple.

Gabriel Olivera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kristofferson shoots for a double leg takedown but Olivera sprawls well. He's pushed Kristofferson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

I would just about give that final round to Gabriel Olivera.
Well Olivera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
