The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katarn looks to score with a jab to the body but Washington is just out of range.
Washington fails to land with a series of punches.
A left lands for Washington.
It looks like Kyle Katarn has been cut.
Washington throws a right and a left that Katarn avoids nicely.
Katarn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Washington connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Katarn scrambles back to his feet.
Washington throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Katarn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Washington paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Washington lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Washington working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
A short body shot lands from Katarn as the two fighters clinch.
Katarn misses with a short punch on the inside.

Katarn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Katarn presses Washington against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Washington throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Katarn blocks it with crossed arms.
A bit of stalling here from Katarn.
Katarn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Washington.
Washington has clasped his hands together around Katarn's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Washington in side control, throwing shots but Katarn defends.
Katarn tries to escape but Washington is in control.
Washington working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Katarn is looking to reverse the position.
Washington prevents Katarn from escaping the position.
Washington gets to mount! Katarn was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
BOOM! Washington connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Washington is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Washington extends the arm and Katarn is forced to tap!

Romeo Washington really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that SAVE A FIGHTER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
