The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dimagiba takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Gomez scores with a jab to the head.
Dimagiba slips under a jab.

Dimagiba closes the distance and clinches.
Dimagiba tries for a takedown. No joy.
Dimagiba goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gomez prevents it.

Dimagiba is trying to trip Gomez. He has hold of a leg but Gomez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dimagiba persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gomez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dimagiba tries to lock up and control but Gomez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dimagiba can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gomez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dimagiba can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gomez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Dimagiba is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Dimagiba flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gomez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Dimagiba and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gomez slips an arm under Dimagiba chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gomez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gomez is squeezing on Dimagiba like an anaconda would it's prey. Dimagiba fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
