PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Naye Kaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiujiteiro Bacana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Naye Kaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jiujiteiro Bacana!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Bacana. No joy for Kaka on that attempt.
Kaka shoots in but no luck this time.
Bacana tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kaka swivels and escapes.
Horrible takedown by Kaka or perhaps it was just good defense by Bacana which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Naye Kaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bacana is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kaka sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bacana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kaka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bacana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bacana drops back looking for a leg! Kaka is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaka manages to kick Bacana off! Bacana jumps back into Kaka's guard.

Kaka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kaka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bacana stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kaka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bacana looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kaka is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bacana is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kaka is breathing heavily.

Kaka is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bacana knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bacana is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kaka's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bacana is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kaka pulls his head out easily.

Kaka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bacana has managed to free his arm - good work.

Bacana looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bacana looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Kaka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bacana pushes Kaka off and gets back to his feet.
Bacana misses with a takedown attempt - Kaka sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kaka defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bacana.
Bacana closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kaka circles away.

Kaka bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kaka is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bacana has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bacana is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kaka's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bacana is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kaka pulls his head out easily.

Bacana is defending against the submission attempts here by Kaka.

Kaka seems to be looking for submissions.

Kaka is looking for a kimura but Bacana is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kaka to get the leverage.

Bacana actively working from the bottom here.
Bacana is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bacana doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kaka.

Kaka is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bacana defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bacana gets full guard.

Bacana is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kaka defends well.

Kaka drops back looking for a leg! Bacana is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bacana manages to kick Kaka off! Kaka jumps back into Bacana's guard.

Bacana is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kaka stands and steps away. Bacana gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bacana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kaka as he jumps to the side.
Bacana leaves Kaka with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Naye Kaka will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Kaka is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bacana is trying to escape and Kaka transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bacana is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kaka! Very nice indeed!
