Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Artair Dostan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith jabs at Dostan's body.
Dostan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Dostan throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smith counters with a right hand to the body.
Dostan circles away from the clinch attempt

so Dostan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dostan postures up.
Dostan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dostan wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.

Smith is looking to improve his position.

Smith actively working from the bottom here.
Dostan content to control rather than advance.
Dostan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Smith for as long as he can get away with.

Dostan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Smith wants to control but Dostan is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Dostan seems content to control.

We're going to have a standup here because Artair Dostan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Dostan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Smith thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dostan if he has to take too many more of those.
Smith scoring well with a low kick there.

Dostan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Smith has momentary wrist control but Dostan slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dostan stacks Smith on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dostan!
Dostan slows the pace down.

Smith tries to bench press Dostan off him but Dostan keeps the position.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Dostan! Smith is hurt baaadly! Dostan is firing away with more strikes - Smith is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
